Privacy Policy — DriveOne

Last updated: 2026-07-19

Data Controller

The data controller within the meaning of this Privacy Policy is Daniel Kopaczewski, the creator of the DriveOne app (pl.danielkopaczewski.cardiagnostic).

For any questions regarding personal data protection, you can reach us at kontakt@danielkopaczewski.pl.

Your Vehicle Data

Data read from your vehicle — VIN number, mileage, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and live parameters (RPM, temperature, pressures, etc.) — is stored exclusively on your device, in a SQLite database encrypted with AES (SQLCipher).

We do not send this data to our servers. We have no access to it.

No User Account

DriveOne does not require creating an account. To download diagnostic parameter (PID) definitions from our backend, the app generates a random, anonymous installation identifier (installationId) that is not linked to your identity or any other personal data.

Crash Reporting

We use Sentry to collect crash and error reports, which helps us improve app stability.

Sensitive data such as VIN, mileage, or location is anonymized or never logged in crash reports.

In-App Purchases and Pro Subscription

Pro subscription purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, in accordance with their respective privacy policies and terms.

We do not store your payment card details or other billing information — this is handled exclusively by the store you downloaded the app from. Our backend (Azure) only verifies the validity of the purchase receipt.

Communication Security

All communication between the app and our backend is encrypted via HTTPS with additional certificate pinning, which protects against man-in-the-middle attacks.

No Ads, No Tracking

We do not sell your personal or vehicle data to any third parties.

The app contains no advertisements and no marketing trackers.

App Permissions

Bluetooth — required to connect to an ELM327 diagnostic adapter.

Location — on Android devices, the operating system requires this permission to scan for Bluetooth Low Energy devices. We do not collect or use your location for any purposes of our own.

Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data. Since vehicle data is stored exclusively on your device, uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data.

For requests related to exercising your rights, contact us at kontakt@danielkopaczewski.pl.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
